Stevia is Basically a plant which is sweet in nature, that’s why most commonly people call it natural sweetener, it is 200-300 times more sweeter that normal table sugar.

Stevia is also known as Stevia rebaudiana, it is a member of chrysanthemum family a subgroup of the Asteraceae family (ragweed family).

Stevia has been used to sweeten beverages and make tea since the 16th century.

Originally this plant is native to Brazil and Paraguay but now also grown in countries like India, China and Japan. It is used as zero calories sweetener and used in some herbal supplements and also known as non-nutritive sweetener.
